Framing
I drove around last night looking for things to shoot that would be outside the box for this project but it was actually harder than I though it would be.
My favorite of your framing photos is the last one with the rainbow. I really wanted to get a rainbow shot, but wasn't able to make it work. I like how it seems like the fluffy cloud in the middle of the rainbow is connecting both halves of the rainbow. Having the vehicle in the photo is a little distracting from the main focus, but I still really like the concept.
I think your strongest photograph was the shot with the pillars. I like how not only do the pillars frame the shot, but then the railings keep guiding your eyes forward. Nice job!
I'm also find this project hard, I don't really want to force a frame per say. Regardless you got some great shots. I really like how the top of the building/steeple frame the second to last photo.
I think your two first shots are the best for framing. Great job on capturing the rainbow though! The pillar shot really adds perspective to the photo and frames the scenery well. Great job!
I really like the shots you got with those pillars, they make for nice frames. I agree, this assignment was tough and I also like your rule of thirds pictures. Its amazing the difference that can be made from centering a picture to putting it to the side.
I agree that the first shot of the pillars is the best. The rainbow is fun, but there is no frame. As Jami pointed out, it is a distraction...look all around the frame before you press the shutter release. You have control over what is in and what is out. Train your eye to see all of these things that do not add to the focus of the image. The pillars frame the photo exquisitely and the light is right on so we see a lot of the foreground and then the stripe of bright green/yellow in the background sets up a nice dynamic.
